This method has been a game changer for me. The bacon comes out perfectly crisp every time, plus, in the morning I get to put the bacon in the oven and then go back to bed to read for 12 minutes or so – nice and relaxed.
Ingredients
bacon
baking paper
kitchen towel
Method
DO NOT pre heat the oven. It must be a cold oven.
Line a shallow baking tray with baking paper.
Lay the bacon on the tray.
Place the tray of bacon into the oven on the middle shelf and then turn the oven on to 220°C / 430°F
Cook for about 12 -15 minutes.
Turn the bacon pieces over, turn down the oven to 160°C / 320°F and cook for a further 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and drain on kitchen towel.
Remember, the bacon will crisp up further once drained of the fat so make sure not to over cook it in the oven.
